Prayer for General Synod: humility
It's the 8th day of the NovemberNovena days of prayer for the Church of England General Synod whose meting starts in London tomorrow.

Today let us pray for humility,that we may truly seek and accept the will of God, in God's time.
Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 1 Corinthians 12:27 NRSV
And all of you must clothe yourselves with humility in your dealings with one another, for 'God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.' 1 Peter 5:5 NRSV
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves. Let each of you look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others. Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus...Philippians 2:3-5 NRSV
