#Watch
One of the things I like about winter in the northern hemisphere is that sometimes there are beautiful sunrises.
And after a long dark winter night a sunrise can surprise as a sign of hope. That is why I have chosen a sunrise photo for today's Advent reflection #watch.
Day 2 of the #AdventWord calendar this year has the word #watch as a trigger for Advent reflection. I am trying to post a response to each day's reflection this Advent.
The reflection for 'watch' on that digital calendar has these words:
Here is my response today to the word 'watch'.
Watch in the darkness
with the labouring woman.
Watch in the night
with the crying child.
Watch with the fearful
who know no love.
Watch with the dying
and the one who mourns.
Watch for the morning
bringing a new day.
Watch for the rising light
to see a new way.
Watch for the signs
of the presence of God.
Watch for the green shoots
of springing new life.
Last year I used a meerkat on guard on a rock as an illustration of the 2017 AdventWord 'watch'. If you would like to look at another reflection on this theme, see last year's post 'Watch'.

"God is always present and always doing a new thing in the world around us.
Watch, so we don't miss it.
Watch, so we can be open to being changed by God's presence.
Watch, so that we may be able to share the good news of God with others."
